I know, I know. Sometimes there is just something intimidating about making a phone call. You can come up with a million excuses not to pick up that phone… What if her baby is napping? I really don’t have the time to sit down and make a few calls. What if I’m bothering her? Stop all of those excuses right now! Don’t let your insecurities and fears hold you back from being as successful as you should, can and know you can be! Follow up calls from your home parties are with party attendees that actually made purchases with you so these types of calls are customer service driven. What makes them easy is that you are simply following up with them about their purchase, to make sure they are happy with it as well as to answer any questions they might have. A lot of time this simple call can very well lead to conversation that produces add on purchases, them booking a party or simply just learning more about the company. You always want to make a connection with someone that leaves the door of communication and support open. Make following up with party attendees easier by adding it to your calendar or setting an alert in your phone to remind you to do your follow ups and then actually follow through with them. You’ll thank yourself later!
The Magic of the Wish List
During your parties do you have your party attendees also fill out a wish list? If not, you should because it is a terrific tool! Not only does the customer get to dream of ways they could use the different products in the catalog but it’s a great way for you to follow up customers after the party is over with. Did an item they added to their wish list become this month’s special or hostess gift? If so, this is a wonderful opportunity for you to follow up with them and let them know they can get it for a lower price as it’s this month’s special. If it’s the hostess gift explain to them how easy it would be for them to earn their wish list item for free!
The Power of the Thank You Note
Many people have long forgotten the power a simple handwritten thank you note holds and that is really sad. But on the other hand, since so many people have forgotten about it when someone receives one in the mail it makes it just that more special. If you’re not already writing thank you notes to your hostesses the week after their party, then you really need to get into the habit of doing so! This simple gesture is a terrific business practice to start or keep doing if you’ve been doing it. This is a true acknowledgement that you are truly thankful of her time, place, business and welcoming you into her home. After all, everyone loves to feel valued and this is exactly what this gesture does. This also helps build your relationship with her and will make you both comfortable for following up with her in a few months or her reaching out to you in the future.
